About the RAS Exam

The RAS exam, conducted by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC), is a three-stage process to select candidates for various Group A and Group B posts in the state administrative services. Here's a breakdown of the exam structure:

• Exam Pattern:

  • Preliminary Examination (Prelims): A screening test with objective-type questions on General Knowledge and General Science. Scores from this stage are not included in the final merit list.

  • Main Examination (Mains): A descriptive-type exam carrying more weightage than the prelims. It typically consists of four theory papers covering topics like:

    • History of India and Rajasthan

    • Indian Polity and Economy

    • Geography of India and Rajasthan

    • Science & Technology and Current Affairs

    • Essay writing

  • Interview/Personality Test: The final stage assesses the candidate's personality, communication skills, mental alertness, and suitability for the administrative role.
